Louanna Ball, 89, of Bolivar died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, in her home.

She was born Aug. 24, 1919, in Polk County, the daughter of Virgil and Mary Wright Box. She formerly owned the Pleasant Hope Cafe, Polk County Ambulance and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Over 50 Club and Polk County Artists Association.

Her parents; a son, Roy Presley; a granddaughter, Tammy Hughes; and a brother, Glenn Box, preceded her in death.

She is survived by three sons, Tim Presley and wife Nina of Strafford, Randy Ball and Kenny Ball and wife Diana, all of Bolivar; two sisters, Louise Smith of Bolivar and Wanda Hinkle of Blue Springs; a brother, Joe Box and wife Marlene of Texas; 10 grandchildren, Todd Presley, Timara Runner, John Price, Mark Price, Caitlin Ball, Austin Ball, McKenzie Mortimer, Roy Allen Presley, Matthew Presley and Brandon Presley; six great-grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Betty Presley of Pleasant Hope; as well as several other relatives and friends.

Services are at 1 p.m. Friday, May 1, in Pitts Chapel with Chaplain Jim Friend officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Springfield. Musical selections will be “Go Rest High on That Mountain” by Vince Gill and “Ave Maria” and “Amazing Grace.” Pallbearers will be the grandkids. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 30.
