A retired farmer, he was born June 8, 1874, in Rochester township, Cedar county, son of George and Melissa Jennings Adams. He married Esstella Crees on Nov. 6, 1907, in Muscatine.
A member of the United Church of Christ, he belonged to Golden Rule Lodge 24, A.F. & A.M., at Rochester.
Surviving include the widow, residing at the Masonic Sanitorium; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Elise Adams of Tulsa, Okla., and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. (cst) Tuesday at the Griffith Funeral home, Wilton, with the Rev. Joseph Mayer officiating. Interment will be at Bethel cemetery in Cedar county. Graveside services will be in charge of Golden Rule AF & AM.
