Vernon Allphin, 64, died at his home in West Valley City, Utah Thursday morning of a heart attack. He was a former Lovell resident. Vernon was born September 13, 1917 in Lovell, the son of George K. and Myra Allphin. He had recently retired from the U.S. Postal Service where he had worked for the past 30 years. He was a veteran of WWII having served in the U.S. Army. He married Virginia Myerhoff in 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Survivors include his wife and three sons, Vernon Brent of West Valley City and Gary and Scott LeRoy of Cody, Wyoming and one daughter, Valerie Jackson of Murray, Utah, three brothers, Nylen Lee of Orem, Utah, Virgil, of San Diego California, and Marlin A. of Spanish Fork, Utah and four sisters, Viola Jensen of American Fork, Utah, Vida Neves of Spanish Fork, Utah, Geneva Dickson of Arlington, Washington, Myra Cowley of Byron, Wyoming, and one grandchild.
Vernon was preceded in death by one son Randy and two brothers, Harold and George.
Funeral Services will be Monday, July 12, at 11:00 a.m. in the Lovell, Wyoming Stake LDS Chapel with Bishop Pat Crosby officiating. Burial will be in the Lovell Cemetery. Haskell Funeral Home of Lovell is in charge of arrangements.
