Kathleen Alkire, 81, a resident of Route 5, Box 372 of Buckhannon, died at the home of her daughter, Linda Boyles, on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2004.
Ms. Alkire was born Feb. 25, 1923 in Upshur County.
She was the daughter of the late Brenice Rhinehart Post and Dwaine Post.
On Oct. 02 1946, Ms. Alkire was united in marriage to the late Woodrow Alkire who passed away March 17, 1997. She is also proceeded in death by a brother, Hugh Post, and sister, Velma Post.
Surviving family members include a daughter, Linda Boyles and husband, Jim of Buckhannon; two brothers, James Earl Post of Buckhannon and Junior Post of Lucasville, Ohio; two grandchildren, Patrick Boyles of Charleston and Stephanie Suder of Buckhannon; and two great-grandchildren, Adam and Alex Suder, both of Buckhannon.
Ms. Alkire was a homemaker as well as a member of Pleasant Valley Church in Hackers. She also attended the South Buckhannon Mission Church.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home Inc.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. Wease Day and Gary Mallones will conduct the services followed by internment at the Upshur County Memorial Park.
