In 1908, John Beeler gave up active business when he and Emma moved to Denver to be near their sons, John Allen and Edwin.

Their son, John Allen Beeler, was an assistant engineer in the construction of the cable railways of Cincinnati and Denver from 1885 to 1890, and the chief engineer of the Denver Tramway Company from 1890 to 1902.
