Huntsville – Dewey Elder Bates, 74, of Route 6 Fayetteville, died Monday in the Springdale hospital. Borne June 30, 1896 at Greenwood, the son of John A. and Etta Bryan Bates, he was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Mary Bell Phelps Bates of the home; one daughter. Mrs. Evelyn Watson of Wesley; two brothers Howard of Junction City, Kan. And Bryan W. of El Paso, Tex.; three sisters, Miss Hazel and Miss Linda Bates of Hutchinson, Kan. And Mrs. Maggie E Slvage of North Dakota and three grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 2 pm. Wednesday at the Wesley Church of Christ with burial in Wesley Cemetery under direction of Brashears Funeral Home.
