Alvin Fletcher Dingler, 73, died at Caddo Valley Nursing Home on Tuesday, August 25, 1970.
He was born January 15, 1897, at Kirby, the son of Fletcher and Julia Taylor Dingler.
He was a member of the Pike City Missionary Baptist Church and a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include his wife: Esther Dickerson Dingler of Glenwood; two sons: Aaron Dingler of Glenwood and Harold Dingler of Kirby; one daughter: Mrs. Glynn Self (Betty Sue) of Kirby; three brothers: Floyd Dingler and John Dingler of Kirby, and Elbert Dingler of Amity; five sisters: Mrs. Allie Thrash of Monterey Park, California, Mrs. Willie Paslay of Orange, Texas, Miss Lola Dingler of Kirby, Mrs. Lorena Thrash of Glenwood and Mrs. Laura Paslay of Waco, Texas; and six grandchildren.
The Rev. J.H. Duren officiated.
Services were Wednesday afternnon, Aug. 26, at two o'clock in the Salem Baptist Church. Burial was in Salem Cemetery by Davis Funeral Home.
