SIKESTON, Mo. — William H. "Bill" Adcock, 85, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 4, 1923, in Portageville, Mo., to the late John Anderson and Fannie Elizabeth Harrelson Adcock.

Adcock was a member of Illinois Avenue General Baptist Church. He was a production manager with Coca-Cola Bottling in Sikeston more than 20 years, and later for Royal Crown Bottling in Illinois.

He and Lola Rettig were married Sept. 4, 1944. She preceded him in death July 14, 2006.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Brenda Adcock of Jacksonville, Ill., Gary and Cheri Adcock of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, James Adcock of Ohio, John Adcock Jr. of Iuka, Ill.; a sister, Beatrice Stanfill of Kennett, Mo.; three grandchildren, Kimberley Andracsek, Jason Adcock, Aaron Adcock; and two great-grandchildren, Wesley Adcock and Brooke Andracsek.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ponder Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gary Zook, former pastor of Illinois Avenue General Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
