CHAFFEE, Mo. — Elizabeth "Betty" Golightly, 79, of Chaffee died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Feb. 8, 1929, at Chaffee, daughter of George Emery and Stella Ann Pearson Allwood. Betty married Fred Golightly April 25, 1949. He preceded her in death June 18, 2004.


Betty was a member of First Baptist Church and VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 3127.


Survivors include a son, Fred R. Golightly of San Ygnacio, Texas; a daughter, Susan Urhahn of Chaffee; three grandchildren, Rusty Golightly and Richelle Halter of Chaffee, Vanessa Carlton of Anniston, Mo.; five great-grandchildren, Maeghan and Mitchell Halter and Madison Golightly of Chaffee, Tyler and Nykki Carlton of Anniston.


She was preceded in death by two brothers.


There will be a graveside service at 2 p.m. Saturday at Union Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Vyron Yount officiating.


Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel of Chaffee is in charge of arrangements.
