Ruth Marie Roberts Abbott, 92 years of age, departed this life on Monday, February 21st, 2011 at the Christian Care Center in Lancaster, Kentucky.
Ruth was born on March 14th, 1918, daughter of the late Cuda Roberts and Edna "Pearlie" Flynn Roberts. Ruth was a member of the White Oak Baptist Church at Nancy, Kentucky. She leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing.
Ruth was survived by five sons, Lewis Ray (and Evelyn) Abbott of Paint Lick, Kentucky, Paul Lee Abbott of Nancy, Kentucky, Clinton C. Abbott of Arcanum, Ohio, Kenneth Dale (and Virginia) Abbott of Berea, Kentucky, and Roger G. Abbott of Nancy, Kentucky; one daughter, Nancy A. (and Dale) Humphrey of Stanford, Kentucky; one sister, Lucy Roberts of Norwood, Ohio; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cuda Roberts, who departed this life on November 13th, 1976 and Edna "Pearlie" Roberts, who departed this life on November 12th, 1980; and her husband of 55 years, William Ray Abbott, whom she married in May of 1939 and who departed this life on March 5th, 1995.
Visitations were held at the Pulaski Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23rd, 2011.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 24th, 2011 in the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Dr. James Floyd Officiating.
Burial followed in the White Oak Cemetery in Pulaski County, Kentucky.
