Funeral service for Pfc. William L. Andre, 21, who died in action Jan. 18, 1945, in Reipertswiller, France, will be held privately at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Arbaugh-Pierce funeral home in charge of Rev. Thomas Hammerton of the Winona Methodist church.
Interment will be in Woodsdale cemetery with military honors by members of Hanoverton Lepine-Rush past, American Legion.
Pfc. Andre was born in New Garden April 26, 1924, and was the son of Nova Andre of Winona and the late Leroy Andre who died in 1946.
He served overseas with the 179th Infantry Regiment and first was listed as missing in action but later reported killed. He was a Salem High school graduate.
Survivors beside his mother are three sisters, Mrs. Gilbert Edgerton of Leetonia, Mrs. Elmer Stamp of near Hanoverton and Mrs. Peter Vacerino of Brooklyn, N.Y.
