Sophia came to my daughters yard a few months back as a stray. My daughter took very good care of her and my son had blood work done on Sophia, and was told that Sophia tested positive for Feline Leukemia. Since then, my daughter has taken such good care of Sophia, along with my son. She has had fancy feast each day, twice a day plus other food and my daughter even built her a place to sleep.
Sophia came up missing yesterday and today, my daughter found her resting in her bed and noticed signs of pneumonia.
So, my son and daughter took Sophia to the Vets to have her cross over to Rainbow Bridge where she can play without being sick ever again.
We all can not save the world, just the little corner of our world and I am so grateful for the kindness of my son and daughter and the care they gave Sophia.
Education is not the answer regarding stray cats and their previous owner, what the answer is, to enforce stricter laws on people having these kittens around and then throwing them to the curb when they are not little kittens anymore.
I can't tell you how sad I am to see Sophia go but I also know, she won't suffer anymore.
