Harriet Taylor McCormick-Bryarly was born on 24 July 1824 in Virginia to George McCormick and Harriet Jane Mitchell.

Harriet married Richard Samuel Bryarly II on 24 January 1848 in Clarke County, Virginia and they had NINE children:

Eliza McCormick Bryarly (1850-1864),
William Bryarly (After 1850-1857),
Mary Louisa Bryarly-Chrisman(1852-1928),
Susan Fitzhugh Bryarly (1854-1909),
George Bryarly (1856-?),
John Elliott Bryarly (1861-1908),
Hattie Lee Bryarly-Shane (1864-1891), and
Richard Samuel Bryarly (1868-1940).

Harriet passed away on 13 Jul 1887 and was buried in the Bryarly Graveyard.
