After an illness of a little more than a week, Mrs. Anna Grimm of this vicinity died Friday morning in Blessing Hospital, Quincy, where she had been a patient for a week, age sixty years.
Anna Burki, daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Burki, was born at Elgin, Iowa, June 27, 1875. She was married to Edward Grimm, on April 24, 1898. They lived on the farm where she was reared until ten years ago, when they moved to their present farm south of LaGrange, Mo. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church near Taylor, of which her husband is the pastor.
She leaves seven children; Fred E. Grimm, LaGrange; Leo Grimm, Chicago; Mrs. Marie Butikofer, LaGrange; Mrs. Rose Steffen, Elgin, IL. Mrs. Elizabeth Sutter, Taylor, Mo; Mrs. Anna Gudeman, Chicago; Mrs Sarah Gerst, Oakville, IA. Eighteen grandchildren also survive her.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Baptist church at LaGrange, MO., in the presence of a large assemblage including, besides neighbors and friends from this vicinity, many relatives and friends from Lamar, MO. Sabetha, Kansas, Elgin, Oakville and Pulaski, Iowa, Chicago, Cissna Park, Elgin, Morton and Roanoke, Illinois. Rev. Noah Schrock of Oakville, Iowa and Rev. David Mangold of Roanoke, Illinois delivered the discourses.
Burial was in the Apostolic church cemetery. The casket bearers were the sons, Fred and Leo Grimm, and four of the sons-in-law, Will Butikofer of LaGrange, Eli Sutter of Taylor, Leslie Gerst of Oakville, and Ezra Steffen of Elgin, Illinois.
