Mrs. Ainley Jane Chestnut, 75, Odon, died at 10:30am Saturday at her home after being ill for several years.
Mrs. Chestnut was born April 17, 1881 in Daviess County, the daughter of Daniel and Melinda Hastings Dinkens. She married Jacob Chestnut, and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Chestnut was a member of the Shiloh Church of God.
Three daughters, Elsie Ramsey, R.R. 1 Odon, Lydia Franklin, city, Inez McNabb, Odon, two sons, Leroy Chestnut, Terre Haute, and Sheldon Chestnut, Indianapolis survive. There are 15 grandchildren.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mary Anthony Newberry, and Anna Chandler of Terre Haute.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm Tuesday at the Poindexter Funeral Home in Odon with Rev. Cletus Franklin officiating. Burial will be in the Raglesville cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral home.
