WOODROW RAY BARNETTE, 70, OF Persinger, Nicholas County, died Nov. 7, 1986, at home after a long illness.
He was born in Clay County and was a retired coal miner for Elk River Coal and Lumber Co., Widen. He was a Baptist.
Surviving: wife, Maude Hamrick Barnette; sons, Delano of Summersville, Ronald of Persinger and Carl at home; daughters, Grace Adkins of Summersville, Wanda Nicholas and Hilda Thomas, both of Persinger; brother, Hazel Hamrick of Cedar Grove; sisters, Mabel Holcomb of California, Ethel Snodgrass and Olena Adkins, both of Summersville, Evelyn Summers of Drennen; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Waters Funeral Home, Summersville, with the Rev. James Hamrick officiating. Burial will be in West Virginia Memorial Gardens, Calvin. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
