Funeral services for Ray C. Ahrend, 67, who died Saturday at his home in Primghar after a long illness, was at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Sanborn, Ia, funeral home. Rev. Dean Walker of St. Anthony Catholic church of Primghar officiated and burial was in the Sanborn cemetery.
Mr. Ahrend was born January 26, 1893 at Newhall, Ia., and moved to O'Brien county in 1896. In 1927 he married Frances Bohan of Sanborn. The couple lived at Pipestone, Minn., returning to Primghar in 1943 where he was a mechanic until he retired in 1946. He was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include the widow; a brother, George E. Ahrend of Omaha, and two sisters, Mrs. Nettie Collins of Chicago and Mrs. Cora Geister of Sanborn.
