Floris "Chub" Marriott was born in Chillicothe, Illinois, and came with the family to Colorado about 1905. The family lived on South Lincoln Street and attended St. Francis de Sales church and school.
Chub, in his early 20s, left with his brother Leo for the West Coast and worked for a cousin, picking and packing fruit. Chub returned to Colorado after a few years and went to work for the Midwest Refining Co. in Denver. He eventually went to work for the Public Service Co of Colorado as a salesman of appliances and heating/air conditioning systems. Chub retired in 1968.
Chub married Helen Bates in 1934. They had two children, John and Marianne.
Chub spent much of his retirement at his cabin in Pine, Colorado, and enjoyed good health right up to his death in 1985.
