He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Bill was a member of Woods Chapel United Methodist Church and was an active member of the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard and the American Legion Post 50 in Rockwood.
He retired from the I.B.E.W. Local 441 in Orange, CA and also from Y-12 in Oak Ridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents William J. and Sadie Kate Whalen Bardill, Sr; one daughter: Deborah Lynn Bardill; one grand son: Jeffery Sean Quinn; one great granddaughter: Ashley Nicole Sandoval; and one sister: Anna Mae Bingham Shawhan.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Emma Shannon Bardill; two sons: Brett Alan Bardill and Brian Eugene Bardill; three daughters: Tanja Rae Patton, Faith Marie Booher and Barbara Ann Bardill; sixteen grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a host of other family, friends and loved ones
The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Davis Funeral Home, Harriman.
Funeral services will follow at 6:00 PM with Rev. Joe Davis officiating.
Graveside services will be held Friday, January 22, 2010 at 2:00 PM in the Wartburg Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the University of Tennessee Hospice and their nurse, Darla for their compassion and care.
