Son of Joseph and Nancy Anderson Conard. He was first married to Rebecca Crook on February 8, 1880. She died about two years later. He married Viola Jones in Mar. 13, 1886. She died in June 1895. They had five children, one dying in infancy. Surviving children were Mabel Boggess, sons Earnest N., Orvil C., and Walter C. He was also survived by sisters, Mary Stanton and Fannie May Whalen, brothers James, Charles and W.S.

(NOTE: the obituary states he was buried in Armstrong Cemetery [where most of his relatives are buried], but a relative made a pen and ink change to the obituary showing he was buried in Jones Cemetery-probably where his wife Viola Jones Conard was buried with her mother and grandparents.)

(below is a transcription of the newspaper clipping of the obituary typed exactly as it was published, with typos and poor punctuation and wording. The news clipping does not show the date or the newspaper of origin. Also note, the obituary says George married Viola in 1885, but according to the State of Missouri marriage records, they married on Mar. 13, 1886.)
