Obituary (pub. Atchison Co. Journal (Missouri) May 4, 1900)
Mrs. Sarah Baker, beloved wife of David Baker, died at her home, one and one-half miles west of Brownville, Nebraska, April 30, age 25 years 11 months and 26 days.
She was married to David Baker on December 25, 1893.
The funeral sservices were held at Brownville M. E. Church, Rev. Gilmore of Brock, Neb., officiating. The remains were laid to rest in the Nemaha cemetery.
The deceased leaves father, mother, two sisters, four brothers, husband and two children to mourn her loss.
(I did some checking of records on Ancestry.com and found husband, Davidson Baker born Nov 1864 NE in the 1900 Census, listed as a widower. Children Mary J. born Aug 1883 NE, Ruth born Aug 1887 NE, James born Nov 1889 NE, and younger children that would be Sarah's are Martha E. born Nov 1894 and Henry S. born April 1900. The birth of this child was probably at or near Sarah's death, so she probably died of complications of the birth. A family tree on Ancestry has a photo of the grave marker and it appears David and his first wife's information are possibly on the same stone. Carrie Belle died Feb 1893 and David died in Feb 1940. Child Martha lived until 1981. Another Ancestry tree has a death notice dated Sept 28, 1900 that Henry died the previous Sunday (Sept. 23rd) at age 5 months 6 days (probably born April 17, 1900 and died Sept 23, 1900.)
