Necessary Explanations
1. There seems to be some conflicting dates for William Holton. Birth of 20 Oct 1610 or Jan 1610 or 28 Apr 1610. Anyone with a supporting data may contact me with that info.
2. Burial was supposedly at Bridge Street Cemetery, Northampton, Hampshire Massachusetts, but it apprears there is also a memorial for him at Old Westminster Cemetery, Westminster, Windham, Vermont. There is memorials at both places for him.
3. It appears that William Holton is on the Passenger and Immigration Lists Index twice: once in 1634 when he arrived in Hartford, Ct. and once in 1654 when he arrived at Nonotuck (Northampton, Mass).

Deacon William Holton was one of the first settlers of Hartford, Ct. and one of the eight original petitioners for liberty to plant and settle at Nonotuck (Northampton, Mass), where he moved in 1653. He was the first deacon of the church of Northampton (ordained June 13, 1668) and a representative to the General Court (1667-69).
