Mr. Wilbert Baltzer, age 86, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Health South Hospital in Henderson.
There will be a funeral service on Saturday, February 17, at 1:00pm, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City. Mr. Ronald Brink, C. L. P., of the Alton Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Interment will follow at the Nassau Township Cemetery, near Alton. Visitation with the family will be the hour before the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
Wilbert Lawrence was born on Augut 8, 1920, at Tripp, South Dakota, the son of Gottfried and Bertha (Mogck) Baltzer. He was raised at Tripp and as a teenager moved to California, because of health problems.
On December 2, 1944, he married Ethel May Foreman at the North Glendale Methodist Church in Glendale, California. They made their home at Los Angeles, where he was an auditor with the Santa Fe Railroad. In 1957, they were transferred to Topeka, Kansas. In 1978, they retired to Nevada, settling at Las Vegas, and in October of 2001, they moved to Henderson.
Mr. Baltzer was of the Presbyterian faith. In earlier years, he and his wife did much traveling, especially to the ocean, where they enjoyed the beach. He also liked golfing, hiking, fishing, and camping.
Survivors include his wife of more than 62 years; a son and his wife, David Michael and Robyn SueEllen Baltzer, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a granddaughter and her husband, Jennifer Allie and Luis Lovato; two great-grandchildren, Matthew R. Lovato and Brianna K. Lovato; and a sister, Luella Graham, of Wasilla, Alaska.
