John Wesley Bowling was born to Jesse Hiram Boling and Malinda Hedrick Boling. He was born in Rush Co., Indiana on May 1,1838. He married Elizabeth Hedrick (his cousin)March 5,1863, and had 8 children. He moved from Indiana to Iowa, living in Boon and wapella Counties. From there he moved to Lafayette Co., Missouri, then Jackson Co., Missouri untill his death, Jan. 3,1924. his occupation was that of a school teacher and a farmer.
