He left this earthly life surrounded by a shroud of love from his wife, children, mother, brothers and loved ones.
Ron, a 1970 graduate of John F. Kennedy High School in Sacramento, CA, was a member of the Drum and Bugle Corp. He earned his AA business degree in accounting from Sacramento City College. He enjoyed music, camping, scouting and hunting throughout his life. Ron married Peggy Meyer in March 21, 1980.
They were married for 25 years and made a home for 9 beautiful children. He worked for Kinder Morgan, an energy company as a lead pipe line operator for
20 years. He was a member of the Fairfield Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served many fun-filled years in the scouting program. He could often be found under his Ford Bronco working with his children, a passion that brought many hours of enjoyment. His family, friends and faith were the things that mattered the very most to Ron. He was carried though his illness by his faith and by the faith of known and unknown family and friends. We give our utmost thanks to all of those who helped in any way. We appreciated every kindness, we truly have been held in our Heavenly Father's hands. Ron will leave a void in our hearts and home.
He brightened our lives, made us laugh and enriched many who came in contact with him. We love and will miss you.
Ron was preceded in death by his father, Donald Abel and sister, Cathy Wellington. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; daughters, Ronda Kratzer
(Larry) and Becky; sons, Ben (Michelle), Blake, Brenton, Brian, Bradley, Braden, Connor and Ron Meserve; grandchildren, Gavin and Bella Kratzer; his mother, Myrna Abel; brothers, Donald (Carol), Daniel (Debbie), Patrick (Anne); and sisters, Christy Cluff (Charlie), Ruth Whitney (Steve) and in-laws, Pat and Joseph Meyer.
