Mr. Bateman is the father of six grandchildren and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was married to Oma Saywers Bateman for over fifty years. Mr. Bateman worked at the Mt. Airy granite quarry for many years and retired from there. Grandpa Bateman was a avid hunter and fisherman and would do anything for anyone. We love and miss him so much.
