WINNIE IVESTER BENNETT, 91, of Carnesville, GA, died Wednesday, March 1, 2008, at Oak Heritage Care Home in Baldwin, GA.
A daughter of the late William and Emma Ensley Ivester, she was born May 8, 1914, in Franklin County, and lived most of her life in Stephens and Franklin Counties.
She was employed for many years with Coats & Clark and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James David “Jim” Bennett, and by 2 sons, Thurmond Bennett and Albert Bennett.
Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Catherine and Billy Dove of Carnesville; 11 grandchildren; 2 daughters in law, Blondine Bennett of Clarkesville and Fay Bennett of Mableton.
Funeral services will be held today, March 3, at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home. Rev. Shannon Hayes will officiate and interment will follow in Trinity Methodist Church cemetery.
