Ben T. Browning's Services Held At Senath Yesterday

Funeral services for Benjamin T. Browning, 73, a well known resident of Senath, was held yesterday afternoon at the First Methodist Church in Senath. The Rev. B.L. Odom, the pastor officiated. Burial was in the Senath Cemetery under the direction of McDaniel funeral service.

Active pallbearers were A.B. Utley, Glen Highfill, Robert Caneer, H.M. Johnson, Bill Johnson, and Grover Lane of Senath. Honorary pallbearers were Chester Summitt and Charles Miller of Cardwell, Tom B. Mobley of Kennett, J.H. Lemons, Jack Hardin, Joe Karnes, Richard Hamra, Tom Douglass, and Allen M. Douglass of Senath.

Mr. Browning died early Saturday morning at the Dunklin County Memorial Hospital in Kennett, where he had been a patient for more than two month s. Mr. Browning was born at Milan Tennessee, the son of the late Robert Browning and Mary Elizabeth Caneer Browning. He was married to Miss Ruth Edmonston of Senath in 1912.

Mr. Browning was a director at the Senath State Bank also the Cardwell State Bank at the time of his death. He retired as cashier of the Senath State Bank seven years ago due to ill health. Mr. Browning was graduated from Barnes Dental College in St. Louis in 1910 and maintained practice in Senath until 1924. In the early thirties he served as a bank examiner.

Survivors include his wife Mrs. Ruth Browning: one son Joe Clem Browning of Kennett, two grandchildren, Janis and Joe Clem Browning Jr. of Kennett, and one brother Roy Browning of Coleman, Texas.

Mrs. Whitney Thrower of Kennett, a niece of Mr. and Mrs. Browning made her home with them for a number of years.
