Chester Franklin Anders, 87, of Crossett died Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at his home. Born on August 28, 1923, in Ashley County to W. N. and Bertie Cartlidge Anders, Mr. Anders was a World War II veteran, having served in the Marine Corps for four years, seeing action in the South Pacific. He was a water plant operator for Georgia Pacific until his retirement in 1985. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening and was a member of North Crossett First Baptist Church since 1954, having served as deacon, Sunday School teacher and senior adult director.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Bette Saxton, Polly Morgan and Elaine Johnson.

Grave-side services were at 2 p.m., Sunday, February 20, at the Crossroads Cemetery with Bro. Robin Allen officiating.
