Anthony, 40, died early April 26 at University Hospital in Jacksonville, FL, following injuries received in a motorcycle accident on Blackrock Road in Yulee, FL. Anthony was headed home from his night shift at ITT Rayonier when someone in a vehicle pulled out of a side road in front of his Harley-Davison. He tried to lay the bike down, but was unable to avoid the accident.
A native of Jacksonville, Anthony had resided in Yulee all of his life. He was a maintenance mechanic at ITT Rayonier, Fernandina Beach since 1973. Anthony was an accomplished glass etch artist and the vice president & secretary of the Nassau County Vietnam Veterans.
From 1969 thru 1971, Anthony served in the U.S. Army Fifth Army Division, where he had the rank of Spec. 4th Class Armoured Personal Driver. He received the Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge and the Army Commendation Medal for Valor for his service.
Survivors include his wife,(Nellie Mae) Daphine, a son, Michael Anthony, a daughter, Penny Love; his mother, Elsie L. Thompson; two brothers, Tommy and Timmy Jubito, all of Yulee; two step-brothers, Jimmy Bedell of Yulee, and Ronald Bedell of Savannah,GA; and his grandfather, Andrew Hollowhead of Century.
Anthony was preceded in death by a young son, Timothy Roger Jubito.
