SALT LAKE CITY - Mrs. Janet Cottrell Goodwin Andersen, 29, of 3415 Spruce Circle, formerly of Ogden, was found deat at her home Saturday of causes pending a Salt Lake medical examiner's report.
Mrs. Andersen was born March 9, 1947, in Ogden, a daughter of Roy H. and Laura Danvers Cottrell. She was married to Vincent Goodwin in 1963. They were later divorced. She was married to Robert B. Andersen in 1973. They were also divorced. She attended Ogden City schools and graduated from Weber College and University of Utah with a masters degree in social work.
She was president of the Utah State Conference of Social Welfare in 1972, as was a member of the Governor's Task Force for Standards and Goals for Correction Statewide. She was a member of the Granite School District Title Nine Committee and member of the Media Committee for the Granite School District.
She had been a field work instructor for the University of Utah Graduate School of Social Work, and a counselor in the Granite School District. She was a member of the LDS Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Melinda Goodwin, Salt Lake City; her parents of Ogden; two brothers, Dan Sawyer Cottrell, Ogden; Gordon Cottrell, Eugene Oregon; three sisters, Mrs. Patricia spencer, Carmel, CA; Mrs. Rosemary Poskus, Mponterey, CA; Mrs. Ross (Dorothy) Coppock, Portland, OR.
Funeral Services were held Thursday, 11 a.m., at Lindquist & Sons Colonial Chapel with Counselor Roger S. Dutson of the Ogden Highland Ward officiating. Friends visited at the mortuary one hour prior to services. Interment in the Ogden City Cemetery.
