|Birth: ||Feb. 10, 1876|
Died, on August 14, 1896, Clara the beloved wife of Charles E. Beesley, after an illness of a short time of typhoid fever. Mrs. Beesley was fairly on the way to recovery, and a day or two before her death, was sitting in a rocking chair looking out of the window where a man who her husband had been having trouble with road up in front of the house in company with three other men. Mrs. Beesley seeing them greatly excited, fearing trouble, fell fainting to the floor causing premature birth and death of the child. From this she never recovered although the best medical skill and attention of friends was given her. The subject of our sketch was well known and loved by all and our little community was greatly shocked to learn of her death. Your writer was at her bed-side a short time before she passed away. She bore her affliction without a murmur.
Mrs. Beesley was born on February 10th, 1876 in Wright County, Missouri. She was a daughter of Frederick Jones of Wright county. She was married to C.E. Beesley Feb. 4th, 1894. They have a little boy one year old who at this time is very low with summer complaint.
Mrs. Beesley was buried at Clifty Hall August 15th, 1896, and the casket containing all that was left of this fair jewel was followed to its last resting place by a large concourse of sympathizing friends and relatives. The funeral was preached by Rev. Evans of the Christian Church. She was devoted member of the that church for the past four years, and her death is greatly deplored by all. May she rest in peace.
