"Vera Souza, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 4, 2006. She was born on June 22 1916 in Leadville, CO to Harry and Theresa Lewis. She moved to Paradise 34 years ago with her second husband Woodrow Gragg. He preceded her in death in 1975. She married Norman Souza in 1976, he preceded her in death December of 2005. Her first husband W.R. Lewis was a Torrance, CA police officer killed in the line of duty in 1959.
"She was a lifetime member of the M.M.O.C. Association. She was an EEG Technician at Harbor General Hospital in Torrance, CA and she also worked at Crown Zellerbach Paper Co. in Camas, WA. Vera was active in her local Church, Craig Memorial Congregational. She belonged to a Paradise bowling team for a number of years. She loved working in her yard, square dancing, RV traveling and fishing at the Klamath River.
"She is preceded in death by her brother, Don Lewis of WA and her stepson, John Souza of Reno, NV in 2004."
