ALLEN (Giles), Frances Eleanor - 84, Lake Echo, passed away peacefully at home April 16, 2003. Born in Musquodoboit Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Dora (Hurley) Slade. Frances was a lifetime member of the United Church of Canada. In her younger years she was a member of the Cole Harbour Women's Institute. She enjoyed entertaining friends in her home and as a homemaker had a great love of cooking and baking. She is survived by her husband, Arlie Allen; sons, Stanley (Jackie) Giles, Cole Harbour; Victor (Jeanette) Giles, Westphal; daughter, Dora (John) Thibeau, Red Deer, Alta.; stepchildren, Marie, Donna, Margaret, Willard, Alton and Wyma; sisters, Gwen (Ron), Lois, Marie, Evelyn (John); brother, Brendon; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Harold Giles; brother, Ivan; sister, Irma. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today with memorial service 2 p.m. Saturday, both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, Rev. David LeBlanc officiating. Reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home Reception Centre. Private family burial in Woodlawn Cemetery.
