Gerald Leon "Rosie" Throm, 74, Blue Rapids, died Saturday, July 1, 2006, at Community Memorial Healthcare, Marysville.
A service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 6, at the First Baptist Church, Blue Rapids, with the Rev. Harold Stacy officiating. Clydene Stacy will be organist. Harold and Clydene Stacy will sing "Glory Land" and the congregation will sing "Amazing Grace."
Pallbearers will be Howard Miller, Floyd Lockhart, Marvyn Weeks, Dayton Nestor, Raymond Petr and Richard Petr. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery, Blue Rapids, with military rites by a Fort Leavenworth unit.
Rosie Throm was born April 18, 1932, at Blue Rapids, the son of Paul W. and Bernice L. Hittle Throm. He attended Blue Rapids High School.
He served in the Army and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Ross Throm, LaJunta, Colo., and two sisters, Pat Angerer, Denver, and Betty Waxler, Pittsburg.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Cooley.
