Savannah Rose Baca, 20, died in her sleep at her home in McNary early Saturday morning May 7, 2005, following a recent back surgery.

Savannah was born in Whiteriver to Rudy and Regina Baca, formerly of St. Johns.

She was a member of the White Mountain Apache Tribe, of the Nakaiye Clan. She was raised in the town of St. Johns and McNary. She attended Blue Ridge schools and graduated with the class of 2003. Savannah worked her summers at the White Mountain Country Club Restaurant and with Jack, Sid and Terry in the pro shop. She also spent time as a cashier at Skier's Edge. She was seeking to continue her education in early child development and eventually work helping disabled children. Savannah was very outgoing, had many friends and loved the outdoors, she loved writing poems, listening to music, playing softball, basketball, fishing and four wheeling in her daddy's jeep. She loved spending most of her time with her family, big brother Marcus, niece Makayla and nephews Arron and baby Tony, also her dog Doobie.

She was preceded in death by her sister Theresa Ann Baca; grandparents Tony and Sara Baca and Robert Sr. and Ella DeClay.

Savannah is survived by her parents Rudy and Regina Baca of McNary; brothers Marcus; niece Makayla and nephews Arron and baby Tony along with countless aunts and uncles, many friends and godparents Howard and Diane Baca of St. Johns.

Funeral services, a rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, May 13 at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in Pinetop. Funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 14 at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church and burial will be held in the Lakeside Cemetery.
