Ernest Martin Buser, 81, of Horton, Kansas passed away on September 6, 2008, at the Horton Community Hospital.

Ernie was born on November 12, 1926, in Baker, Kansas, the son of Carl and Elizabeth Hossfeld Buser.

He graduated from Willis High School in 1944.

Ernie farmed and raised cattle in the Whiting and Muscotah areas with his brother, Ed, until he retired. Mr. Buser was a member of the Muscotah United Church, Hiawatha Elks, and the Horton Lakeview Country Club where enjoyed playing golf for many years.

On June 6, 1947 he married Joyce Banaka in Soldier, Kansas. She survives of the home. Other survivors include a daughter, Sue and her husband Dale Martin of Effingham, Kansas; two grandchildren, Brandy and her husband Greg Monson of Meriden, Kansas and Austin and his wife Pam Martin of Effingham, Kansas; two great grandchildren, Cooper Monson and Madison Martin; one brother, Ed and his wife Gerva Buser of Horton, Kansas and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Fred and Bob Buser and two sisters, Helen Greer and Martha Coulter.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton where the family will greet friends on Monday from 7:00 to 8:30 P.M. Burial will be at the Netawaka Cemetery.
