Howard was born on March 8, 1935 to John and Viola Delveaux. Howard married Jane Joyce Ostrenga on November 19, 1955. Howard served in the Marine Corps.,and then worked at the paper mill in Oconto Falls. Howard was the father of eight children, Laurie, Howard, Teri, Wendy, Callie, Cindy, Tricia and Brian.
Howard had a love for airplanes and flight. He and his wife obtained their pilot's license and owned a small airplane. He suffered from a series of heart aliments over the years but one final heart attack took his life while in flight with his wife, sister-in-law and brother-in-law. He left this world too young and is remembered for his big laugh and big personality. With his love of flight, the family soon used the symbol of an Eagle in many ways to memorialize Howard. On the day he was laid to rest, a bald eagle circled above his home. We knew he was there.
The cemetery section actually considered Woodlawn Cemetery or Oconto Falls Cemetery. St. Anthony's cemetery is adjacent to the city section.
