Lawrence J. Adams

Lawrence J. Adams of Warminster, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 24, 2014 in Warminster. He was 93.

He was preceded in death by Louise, his loving wife of 59 years, as well as his sister, Josephine, and brothers, John, Anthony, and Frank.

He was the loving father of Wayne Adams (Kevin Hagan), and Craig Adams (Diane). He will be sadly missed by his granddaughters, Christine Dixon (Michael) and Nicole Adams.

Larry was retired from Flash Trimming Co. where he worked as an industrial sewing machinist for 34 years. He attended Penn Treaty High School and he proudly served over three years in the Army during World War II. He served in the 7th Army under General Patton in Sicily, and General Clark in Germany. Upon his discharge, he attained the rank of staff sergeant.

Larry met his wife Louise at a roller skating rink during a 'move up skate' and they were together since. He loved to eat desserts, and Louise loved to bake, so it was a match made in heaven.

He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies, Eagles and Penn State fan, and he enjoyed his summers in Ocean City, N.J. He liked to watch The Price Is Right, and The Young and the Restless, as well as cowboy and war movies. Larry was an avid reader, read the newspaper every day and kept up on the top headlines. He took great care of his patio garden at Ann's Choice and could get an amazing number of tomatoes from it.

Family time was special to him, and he was very excited when told he was to be a grandfather. One of his fondest memories was walking to the corner store down the shore, hand in hand with Nicole when she was little. Another one of his more recent memories was attending granddaughter Christine's wedding this past October in Walt Disney World, where he enjoyed the attractions.

He was a very calm and patient man, and never lost his temper. He was extremely funny and fun to be around. He will be greatly missed by his nieces, nephews, family and friends, and all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial service Monday, July 28, at the Chapel at Ann's Choice; 30000 Ann's Choice Way, Warminster, PA 18974. Friends may call on the family from 10 a.m. The memorial service will start at 11 a.m. His interment will be at Forest Hills Cemetery, following the service.
