Son of Roy Avery
Cecil Avery, the son of Mr and Mrs. Roy Avery, was instantley killed Sunday evening, October 31, 1920. He was riding on his father's truck with his two brothers, and two neighboring boys, when a limb knocked his hat off. He jumped off without waiting for the truck to stop. The small pine was so thick, and the bank beside the road rather steep, not giving him a chance to get back from the road. The bunk on the truck struck him in the back tearing his hold loose from the small pine he was holding to, throwing him under the wheel. The truck stopped as quickly as possible, and the boys were horror-stricken, when they picked him up to find him dead.
