Lydia Esther Ida Redepenning was born on May 22, 1911, in rural Bellingham, to parents Emil and Anna (Zahn) Redepenning.

She was baptized on June 11, 1911 at Trinity Lutheran Church of Walter Township by Rev. Emmanuel Gesterling. Her sponsors were Carl Zahn Sr., Heinrich Zahn, Ida Fraasch and Ulricke Redepenning. She was confirmed on April 13, 1924 by Rev. C. C. Hartenstine also at Trinity Lutheran Church. Lydia's confirmation verse was Psalm 73 verses 23-26.

Lydia attended school near her parents farm.

Lydia was united in marriage on April 28, 1931 to Oscar Abramowksi at Trinity Lutheran Church by Rev. G. Mundinger. To this union four children were born. After marriage they farmed and raised their family in Perry Township.

Lydia was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church of Arena Township, serving as President and Secretary of the Zion's Ladies Aid and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. While she was a member of Zion Lutheran she formed a choir that sang for services. She transferred her membership to St. John's Lutheran Church of Madison where she was an active member in the Lutheran Women Missionary League. Lydia was a member of the Madison Lutheran Home Auxiliary for many years, a member of the Bellingham Lion's Club and an active member of the Perry Township Retarded Children's Association.

Lydia moved into Hilltop Apartments and then to the Madison Lutheran Home. Death came to Lydia March 13, 2001, at the Madison Hospital.

In life Lydia enjoyed gardening, canning, singing, going to Sunday School Christmas programs, attending Lutheran Women Missionary League Conventions, Sunday School teaching and especially babysitting for her grandchildren.

Lydia is survived by her children: Jeanette Bohlman of Ortonville, Marilyn (Olson) Schlicht and fiance Bill Matthes of Madison, James Abramowski also of Madison, and Jerry (Lorna) Abramowski of Freeport, Il., and seven grandchildren, also nine great grandchildren, one brother, Hubert (Meranda) Redepenning of Nassau.

She was preceded in death by her husband Oscar, parents, brothers Edgar, Gilbert and Earl Redepenning, one sister Esther and her husband Dale Ruth, sons-in-law Loren Bohlman, Lowell Olson and Herman Schlicht.
