WILLIAM M. CRAWFORD, after a long and brave fight with ALS, died peacefully on Friday, April 22, 2011 in his Leisuretowne, Southampton, NJ home. He was 78. Bill was born on December 28th, 1932 in Queens, NY. He attended Bishop Loughlin High School, where he was a standout baseball star. He later graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. While working for Volkswagen of America as a District Manager, Bill moved his family to Medford, NJ. Bill was a proud parishioner of St. Mary of the Lakes Church in Medford, NJ and was once a member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion. He was also a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Navy and a very charitable person. He enjoyed family vacations, watching the Phillies, golf and an occasional cigar. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marilyn Crawford (Nee Brown) of Southampton, NJ, his five children William, Jr. and his wife Patricia, Donna Haar and her husband Robert, Gary and his wife Karine, Linda Griswold and her husband Steven and son John and also his grandchildren Michael, Robert, Mathieu, Fabien, Kyle, Dana and Kaleigh. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Wednesday from 7:00 - 9:00 PM and on Thursday from 9:00 - 10:00 AM at BRADLEY & STOW FUNERAL HOME, 127 Medford-Mt. Holly Rd., Medford, NJ 08055 (609) 953-7600. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:30 AM at the St. Mary of the Lakes Church, 40 Jackson Road Medford, NJ. Interment will follow in the Park View Cemetery in Medford, NJ.
