GYLE W. ALEXANDER, SR
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Arbuckle Cemetery for Gyle W. Alexander, Sr., 69, one of Arbuckle's most beloved residents, who died Friday in Woodland Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Alexander, long noted for his kindness and help to those less fortunate in the Arbuckle area, was born October 19, 1912, in Wisconsin. He moved to Arbuckle in 1946 where he was a partner in Alexander Center and Alexander grocery store and bar.
Last March 1st, Mr. Alexander and his wife, Helen celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
He was an honorary deacon of the Arbuckle Assembly of God Church, a member of the chamber of commerce, the Republican Central Committee, and a lifetime member of the CSFA. He was also a retired Arbuckle Fireman.
Mr. Alexander is survived by his wife, Helen, of Arbuckle and five children, Gyle Alexander, Jr., Bonnie Tomlin and Barbara Jean Cobb, all of Arbuckle, Michael Alexander of Beale Air Force Base, Marysville and Jim Alexander of San Pablo. A son Duane, preceded him in death.
The following brothers and sisters also survive: Robert Alexander of Arbuckle; Ruth Tyler of Sacramento, Stella Brunner of Woodland, Genevieve Holt of Arbuckle, Vera Kelley of Washington, Alex Alexander of Sacramento, Floyd Alexander, Jr. of Williams and Virginia Tyler of Rio Vista. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
