Fred Allen, 73, of Chariton, died March 21, at the Madison County Memorial Hospital in Winterset. Funeral services were March 24 at Mosher Funeral Home in Chariton. The Rev. Evelyn Carlson officiated the services and burial was at the Chariton Cemetery.
He was born in Chariton on Nov. 3, 1923 to Carl and Floy Allen. He married Bernita Robison and later retired from the Lucas County Health Center maintenance department.
Surviving relatives include his wife; one son, Gary Allen, of Naples, Fla.,; three brothers, Jack Allen of Chariton, Bob Allen of Russell and Keith Allen of Cassville, Mo.; one sister Frances Nichols of Longmont, Colo.; and five granddaughters.
