PISTEL Christina M. "Christy" Pistel, age 31, of Lohman, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2006, in Panama City, Florida due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She and her husband were in Panama City with their son and other family members so they could redo their wedding vows on the beach. This was a tragic end to for the life of such a vibrant young lady. Christy always had a smile on her face and loved to spend time with her son and her family meant the most to her. They were hit broadside by a drunk driver and the driver was not harmed and any justice to him is unknown at this time. She was a 1992 graduate of Russellville High School, a 1993 graduate of Merrell University of Cosmetology and a 2005 graduate of Merrell University of Esthetics. She was a self employed cosmetologist and esthetician, most recently working at A Cut Above Salon and the Riversong Spa, both located in Jefferson City. On April 3, 2006, she was opening Beauty Essentials, which was to be located in her home in Lohman. She was a member of the St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Lohman and worked as a fitness trainer at the Knowles YMCA in Jefferson City. Christy is also survived by one son, Chase Pistel of the home; one brother, Justin Davis of Jefferson City; one sister, Amy Meller of Russellville; her maternal grandparents, Vaughn and Lee Bowman of Jefferson City; two nieces, Shanya Meller and Kambry Pickett, her father and mother-in-law, Leon and Elda Pistel of Lohman; a sister-in-law, Theresa Pistel, also other relatives and a host of friends and clients. Christy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Raymond and Jean Davis and an uncle, Jack Davis. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 6, at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Lohman, with Pastor Carl Gauck officiating. Burial in St. Pauls Lutheran Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, at the Scrivner-Morrow Funeral Home in Russellville. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Chase Pistel Education Fund.
