Earl William Pine, 63, died Aug. 25 at his Palmer residence. There was a visitation at the Family Christian Center in Palmer with a service following with Rev. Peter Gallardo officiating. Burial followed at the Palmer Pioneer Cemetery.

Mr. Pine was born Aug. 8, 1930, in Oklahoma City, Okla. He married Sylvia Connell in 1952 in Oklahoma City. They moved to Wasilla in 1971 and lived in the Palmer-Wasilla area. They then moved in 1979 to Glennallen, where they lived until they returned to Palmer in 1992. Mr. Pine was a truck driver. He loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting, his family said. He was a member of the Gold Panners Association.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia of Palmer; his sons, Michael and Ronald of Wasilla, David of Big Lake and Doug of Palmer; his daughters, Debbie Hartman and Karen Wilson of Palmer; and his grandchildren, Jolena, David, Vanessa, John, Stephanie, Ronald, Brian, Paul, Jacob, Christina, Benjamin, Patricia, Lisa and James. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 402 W. Fireweed Lane, Suite 204, Anchorage 99503.
