In 1876 he represented the New York Yacht Club, defending the America's Cup with the schooner yacht Madeline, against the challenging yacht Countess of Dufferin. He was a member of the Union League and New York Athletic clubs. He was the oldest trustee of the Greenwich Savings Bank. Last week the directors presented a silver loving «up to him. He was the oldest trustee of the Northern Dispensary, and a director of the Colonial Trust Company. Mr. Dickerson leaves two sons, Frank D. and John S. Dickerson, Jr., and two daughters, Mrs. George Fullerton and Mrs. John G. Elliott. The funeral will take place tomorrow afternoon at the [Baptist] Church of the Epiphany, Sixty-fourth street and [723] Madison avenue. The burial will be in Woodlawn.
