Janet was the second child of Ernest and Bertha (Theriault) Foster. She had an older brother, Donald and younger sister, Barbara. On June 4, 1960, Janet married John Barcome. After a long history of kidney problems, Janet died just a week before her 38th birthday. She left behind her husband of almost 13 years, John Barcome, her Ernest and Bertha, and her brother Donald, her sister Barbara , aunts, uncles, and many cousins.
