Mary Emily, daughter of Thomas Edward Taylor and Maud Ruth [Lewis] Taylor, met and married Vollie Fort Boliver January 30, 1918 in Prairie View, Lea Co., New Mexico. Only a year later, pregnant with her first child, Mary Emily died during the flu epidemic of 1918 on January 6, 1919. Vollie had just come home from the war, the flu was real bad everywhere. Emily had gone to help a family, all down with the flu. Vollie went to the Taylor home and when he got to the other house, she was already sick with the flu. She died January 6, 1919. She was the oldest of five children at the time of her death. Two more children were born to Thomas and Maud Taylor after the death of their daughter, Emily.
