Melda Grace Maas was born on June 17, 1921, in Caroline, Wisconsin, to Lother and Rosa (Rusch). She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church and had one brother, Raymond. Melda graduated from Marion High in 1939. She married Ray Aggen and the couple had two children, Michael and Margo Hintz. Melda and Grace divorced and she continued to reside in Shawano until her death on September 18, 1998, at the age of 77. She is buried on Peace Lutheran Cemetery, Tilleda.
